Cost & timing
How much does floor installation cost in Greater Vancouver?
It depends on the floor type, the area, the subfloor, stairs and whether the old floor has to come out. Typical installed prices per square foot for each floor type go here. After a free in-home visit we give you a written quote.
How long does installation take?
Typical timelines for one room, a condo and a full house go here. We confirm the schedule with your quote.
Is the in-home quote really free?
Yes. We come to your home, measure, look at the subfloor and bring samples. The quote costs nothing and you’re under no obligation.
Choosing a floor
Engineered or solid hardwood — which is better for my home?
Both are real wood. Engineered hardwood has a real-wood top layer on a stable core, so it moves less with humidity and can go over concrete and radiant heating — common in Vancouver condos. Solid hardwood is nailed to a wood subfloor and can be sanded and refinished more times over its life. We help you choose based on your subfloor, rooms and budget.
Laminate or vinyl plank — what’s the difference?
Both are floating floors with a printed wood look. Laminate has a wood-fibre core: it is hard, scratch-resistant and warm underfoot, but most laminate only resists water for a limited time. Vinyl plank has a plastic or stone-plastic core that is waterproof, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms and basements.
Condos & strata
Can you install new floors in a strata condo?
Yes. Most strata corporations in Greater Vancouver require an acoustic underlay that meets a minimum sound rating set in their bylaws, and many need written approval before work starts. Check your bylaws first; we install to the rating your strata asks for.
The job itself
Do you remove the old floor and move furniture?
Yes. We move furniture, remove and dispose of the existing floor, and level the subfloor before installing the new one.
Do you bring samples?
Yes. We bring samples to your home or office so you can see colours and textures in your own light, next to your walls and furniture.
Can you refinish my existing hardwood instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Solid hardwood and engineered floors with a thick enough wear layer can be sanded, stained and recoated. We check the floor and tell you whether refinishing or replacing makes more sense.
Can I buy my own flooring and have you install it?
Confirm with client: install-only jobs with customer-supplied flooring, and which brands they supply.
Do you work on commercial projects?
Yes. We install floors in homes and in commercial spaces. No job is too small or too big — tell us about the space and we’ll arrange a visit.
